You are invited to the Chapel A Songwriters Circle which is an extension of the Chapel A House Concerts’ vision to encourage and support Christians making music. You may be a recording artist, budding songwriter, worship leader, working the pub circuit, or exploring your gifts for the first time. Wherever you are on your artistic journey, join us for a focused hour of refreshment and honing your craft. Our aim is to bring together a community of local Christian songwriters in a workshop of supportive open mic, discussions, networking and fellowship. And we would also like to encourage you to consider creative ways of combining faith and justice in your songwriting. The 5th Christian Songwriters Workshop is Rodney Cordner and Jean-Pierre Rudolph will be singing one of their “nostalgic, humorous and joyful Celtic sounding” compositions and chatting about her songwriting techniques. The Irish Music Magazine quoted Cordner's song-writing as “lyrically sharp and steeped in social commentary. A talented songsmith he also possesses a manic sense of wickedly black humour...” and The Ancientstar-Song.com stated “I’ve felt for a long time that as a lyricist, Cordner was one of the most gifted to emerge from the whole Christian genre.” Please come along to the Songwriters Circle and help the vision grow. As time allows, you will have the chance to sing one of your songs and provide discussion. There is no booking fee but Burgers/HotDogs and a Cup of Tea will be on sale from £1 around 5pm. Please inform us by return of your interest in attending by: There are a limited number of places available for the workshop. You also have the opportunity, if you reserve your seat in advance, to stay on for the evening house concert. Doors open 6pm, and will feature Cordner & Rudolph and Laura Summers.
