Beautifully honest, level-headed pop/folk tunes with a ‘can’t quite put your finger on it’ edge, brought to life with a delicately angelic voice on a canvas of acoustic guitar and piano.

Bristol’s 20-year-old singer-songwriter Natalie Holmes has grown her fan base from square one over the past 3 years, now with over a million hits on YouTube, over 14,000 subscribers, well over 3,000 Facebook likes and two successful EP’s on iTunes.

On releasing her debut studio EP ‘The Simplest Things’ back in January 2013, it reached #5 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart and #127 in the main iTunes album chart on it’s first day of release! Her second EP ‘Child’, released in August 2013, reached #8 in the Singer/Songwriter chart and #141 in the main chart – This young musician’s hard work has finally led to something huge.

Since moving to Leeds in 2011 to study at Leeds College of Music, Natalie has been gigging wherever and whenever she can, taking her Internet following and expanding it in the real world. Key moments for her were planning and carrying out her own tour in September, closely followed by supporting Lewis Watson on his entire sold out UK headline tour in October, and most recently holding her very successful debut headline show in anticipation of her new EP ‘Child’. She recently had her song ‘Backwards’ played on E4’s Made In Chelsea, and has also been busy attracting the attention of the likes of Perez Hilton, who in featuring her original song ‘Safety Net’ on his blog, said, “She’s a real artist!”, and BBC Introducing West Yorkshire’s Alan Raw, who played a track from her self produced album ‘Goodmorning Sleepyhead’ on his show.

So far Natalie is unmanaged, unsigned and doing everything under her own steam. Described as “one of the most consistently astounding songwriters the music world has seen in ages”, Natalie is very excited to let her new release of ‘Child’ EP simmer and hopefully boil into something great. Having self-admittedly ‘grown up’ a lot since the last EP, listeners have said she’s come back with an edge of maturity this time, and it’s really transformed her music into something new and unexpected.

Influenced by artists such as Ellie Goulding, Ingrid Michaelson, Bon Iver and Gabrielle Aplin, Natalie started writing songs from a young age; first on piano, (which she’s been playing since before she can remember) and then guitar, which she picked up and taught herself. Years later, she’s fully fledged and out of the nest, just trying to find the best places to fly. To date, Natalie describes a new wave of motivation that’s hit her: “I’ve always been musical, and I’ve always known it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, so now I am doing everything I physically can to make this happen.”
